[Approved AACN CSC - Adultination Exam – Success Pathway Course] In This Course of ,The AACN Cardiac Surgery Certification (CSC) Adult Exam certifies experienced critical care nurses who manage adult cardiac surgery patients in the first 48 hours post-operatively. It validates expertise in hemodynamic monitoring, ventilatory support, temporary pacing, pharmacologic management, infection prevention, and complications such as tamponade or arrhythmias. The exam consists of 90 multiple-choice questions (75 scored, 15 pretest) over 2 hours with a passing scaled score around 90/125. Eligibility includes an active RN or APRN license and recent experience caring for adult cardiac surgery patients in an intensive care environment (generally 1,750 hours in 2 years, with 875 in the past year). Certification is valid for 3 years and supports advanced clinical roles in cardiovascular ICUs and step-down units.
